Me at 19 knocking out the exterior wall of my parents home so I could have stairs put in going from my apartment into the laundry room.

Living such a transient life, the way I was able to place our furniture into so many new spaces and create home in a matter of days was by choosing my main furniture pieces in very neutral-yet beautiful pallet of linen, flax, ivories and creams. I also love unpainted wood “staple pieces” because of the warmth it brings. That neutral and multitexture pallet worked with any existing paint/design scheme. I would always then “shop” my own boxes… Unpacking. laying everything out and finding what would work in the new space. Once I had determined what worked, I would know what was missing- That is when I would begin the hunt for pre-loved treasures. I would begin looking for pieces to repurpose, redesign, upcycle and to blend in with my existing pieces as well as new pieces when necessary. There are also things that I would need and would prefer to purchase new.

But, Whether new or pre-loved I would shop local for as much as possible. In shopping local I would learn my way around, get familiar with the local artisans, local shops, and the surrounding areas.

This last move was so incredibly tough… lots of ups and downs, a health scare that opened my eyes and made me realize that sadly I was on autopilot living for every one else.  I was pushing them to accomplish their dreams at the cost of my health, and my own dreams.

It was then I realized I wanted to find and REVIVE the me that I used to be, the me that  had goals and dreams of her own.  In late spring of 2023 I began this journey, this summer I decided that I want and need roots and I had to either give up on my dream and be at peace with it or take risk and make it happen….

Well IT IS Happening!!! I signed a lease on a studio space and I am opening Revive Design Consulting Firm Fall of 2024!!!

It is  my turn to follow my passion, use my education and live out my dream.

Live Beautifully,

Who I Am

My design assistant and guard dog-Porkchop AKA “Piggy”

Ever since I was in 4th grade I knew I wanted to go into Design.  While I was supposed to be doing math, I was drawing houses or houseboats.  Once I was in middle school I took the passion and turned it into action…. And began my first real life “design projects”. I would put on paper and convince my parents to fund my bedroom Renovations, often having to enlist my older sister to help me with certain tasks. When the reno was complete, I would enjoy it for a moment and then begin the process all over again!!!

My first big design project happened when I came home from college and was going to move into a place of my own- My daddy did not feel it was safe for his little girl to live on her own.

S0 we “compromised”….the storage space above my parents garage was turned into my studio apartment, Completely my design and he allowed me to control the project!!!

I drew the floor plan, tore through walls, put up framing, installed insulation, and put up drywall. I oversaw the plumbing installation where I added a full bathroom and a studio kitchen space. I added an exterior door with a large deck space. I created a tiny home long before they became a THING!!!!

And then…College came and went, marriage, Child one…and we started moving to accelerate my husbands career, Child two…life was happening and my career dreams were put on pause…

I supported my husband’s career goals and with that support came 20+ moves; with every move came “creating home”.  The “shells” were all different….whether it was Corporate housing, extended stay hotels, rentals, new purchase, or a new build- I made it home.  We have lived in a tiny condo, gorgeous brownstone, a little coastal gem, Bold red urban farmhouse and this is just to name a few… but what they have all had in common is they were all our HOME.

With us being in a constant state of transition, It was very important to me that My boys had normalcy and familiarity. They have grown up being taught the mindset that “Home” is not a zip code it’s where people who care about each other live.

What I decided, after move #2, was that I had to create a design plan for our home that transitioned easily; adding when needed, editing as needed, and purging the unnecessary as needed.

Some of our moves I had a zero budget where other times I had a much more generous amount to spend. No matter what I always found a way to create HOME.
